Throughout the evening, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused blackouts in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.
Nine people were injured while residents in eastern districts were left without electricity and encountered disruption to water systems, per reports from municipal leaders.
Meanwhile, a minor was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to regional authorities.
Moscow has escalated assaults on energy facilities over the past few days, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "concrete actions" from partner nations to exert influence on Moscow.
"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, the EU and the major economies - in supplying air defence systems and applying sanctions," he wrote in a online statement.
Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty missiles struck energy facilities, labeling such assaults as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.
The energy minister said Russia was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.
A wave of strikes damaged power facilities and apartment buildings in the capital.
Several of the people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from city authorities.
Local officials said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A young boy was killed and three other people were hurt.
The strikes follow periods of aerial attacks in the territory, sections of which are occupied by Russian forces.
The whole nation is under warning for advanced weapon attacks, which are harder to detect.
Government officials told reporters that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with assaults already impacting energy systems.
Authorities confirmed technical personnel and authorities were anticipating additional strikes.
